This is because residents of Kanye and surrounding villages are concerned that the authorities keep shifting goalposts in their explanations why the project has been delayed. "First we were told that there was no land for the project. Later we were told we delayed in identifying a plot hence the government's decision to suspend the project. But once that land was availed, we were told that inflation had increased the price of the project.
It is all stories and maybe if we could be told by someone who has all the details, then we would be able to tell people something concrete," Mosarwana said.
Supporting the motion, councillor Ponatshego Tshiping said that it is important for the ministry officials to address them because it appears that even some MPs from the area have no definite answers.
