COSAFA venue shift for Zebras

Botswana's COSAFA Group B games have been moved from Kabwe and will now be played at two venues in Kitwe on the Copperbelt in Zambia.

Group B games had initially been scheduled for the capital of the Central province, Kabwe.But the Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho and Swaziland group will now face off in Zambia's second largest city, Kitwe, the home of Freddie Mwila who once coached Township Rollers.According to the new schedule, the matches will be played at two venues at Nkana Stadium and Arthur Davies stadiums with the semi-finals and the final set for the Chinese-built Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

COSAFA competitions committee chairperson Timothy Shongwe said in a statement that all the four group games and two quarterfinal matches scheduled for Kabwe will now be played at Arthur Davies Stadium."There will be no changes to the schedule, the matches that were due to be played in Kabwe will now be moved to Kitwe," Shongwe said."It was a decision taken on logistical grounds but we are delighted to have such an excellent option as Kitwe to host matches.The city has a strong football culture and a great history in the game."
