Yesterday marked 400 days before the Botswana Netball Association (BONA) hosts the 2017 Youth World Cup, but the association’s president, Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego expressed concern over progress.

“As BONA we are concerned that progress has been slow, especially with engaging full time resources to work on the event,” Lebotse-Sebego said. She said the local organising committee has worked hard under testing circumstances.  Botswana’s ability to host a successful event would be tested when the country hosts the Africa Netball World Youth Cup qualifiers from July 23 to 31, 2016.

“We will use that as a test event for NWYC 2017,” Lebotse-Sebego said. She said concerns are over delays, which have been mostly financial, particularly the release of funds from the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC).
