Complacency cost us promotion - Comets' official

First Division side, Jwaneng Comets' official, Njabulo Gilika, believes early good form led to complacency in his side, which ultimately cost them promotion.

He believes that after starting the season well, his charges became complacent and they have paid the price. With the side fifth on the log and their hopes of finishing second and securing a play-off spot fading, Comets will need a miracle to be in the Premier League next season.

Gilika insists they will fight until the end although realistically their chances are gone. According to Gilika, it is possible for second-placed Mochudi Buffaloes to lose their last game against Mogoditshane Fighters by four goals and Comets beat Killer Giants by the same margin with Letlapeng losing or drawing against Queens Happy Hearts.
"We will fight until the last day. We have missed automatic promotion before but managed to sneak in through the play-offs and right now I still believe we have a chance of qualifying," Gilika said. The Comets' official said their erratic second round display was partly due to the change in the coaching department.
