Comets continue to struggle

First Division side, Jwaneng Comets, have a reputation of quickly bouncing back to the Premier League but face a daunting task this season as promotion seems to be slipping out of their grasp.

The former Premier League side, who suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of minnows, Mathaithai over the weekend, is yet to register a win in the second round. No team wants to drop points at this crucial stage of the league and those who fancy their promotion chances should be the toughest opponents and Comets do not fit that description at the moment. A major shift is needed to put their promotion prospects back on track.

Comets still remain fourth with 23 points, 10 ahead behind leaders, Buffaloes and a point less than both Killer Giants and Letlapeng who have both accumulated 24 points.  The league-break to make way for the Coca-Cola Cup seems to have cost log leaders, Mochudi Buffaloes, as they resumed the campaign with a 0-0 draw against bottom-placed Queens Happy Hearts.
