Club management worry departing BVF president

The outgoing Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) president Tsoseletso Nkala has said that though she is leaving, she is worried about the poor management at club level.

She said the clubs are not improving in the management of affairs. "If you look at big clubs like Kutlwano and Mafolofolo, you will realise that they are still doing things the same way they did 10 years ago," she said. She said that she faced challenges of working with people who are not committed. The BVF holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections in Palapye tomorrow and Nkala has said she will not seek re-election because of her tight schedule.

She appreciates that people want her to stand again but she said she does not have time to serve the BVF diligently. "I have worked with people who did not have time to serve the BVF and I know how painful it feels. Therefore, I would not want to waste anyone's time," Nkala said. She stated that she learnt a lot during her reign and she will be available to help the incoming president. She said her committee achieved a lot in the two years that it was in office. "Working with different people has made me grow as an individual.  I am now an alert person who can take decisions with more confidence," Nkala said. She added that the committee recently clinched a lucrative sponsorship for the league, which will be launched soon. She prides herself in redefining volleyball structures and roles.
