China on tour to celebrate Olympic Games

The Chinese have embarked on a challenging 21-natin tour in Africa, Asia and Europe to celebrate the fact that they are hosting this year's Olympic Games.The campaign, which started in Cape Town, South Africa, recently, would see members of the Olympic organising committees driving eight 4x4 Chinese vehicles over a distance of about 43,000 kilometers on land. The campaign is dubbed Overseas Chinese Overland Challenge (OCOC).

In Gaborone, it was hosted by Miles Nan Charitable Foundation Botswana. The OCOC team arrived on Monday and received a warm welcome from hordes of Chinese and a few Batswana at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).

A number of MPs among them Samson Moyo, Filbert Nagafela, Vistor Muruti and Calvin Batsile graced the event.Yesterday, the OCOC team made donations to SOS Children's Village. They visited the Chinese Embassy, Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture and the Olympic Organising Committee of Botswana.
