Chiefs thrash Bucs to take TKO honours

Kaizer Chiefs claimed a second successive Telkom Knockout title and put arch rivals Orlando Pirates to the sword for the second time in the space of three weeks with a crushing 3-0 win at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

Former Free State Stars' striker Sthembiso Ngcobo was the hero for the Amakhosi, completing a brace with a goal in each half, while Siphiwe Tshabalala put the cherry on top with the final score of the game to make it 3-0.

After Chiefs had dominated the Buccaneers in the teams' Absa Premiership meeting in mid-November, few expected the Telkom Knockout final to be as similarly one-sided. However, Vladimir Vermezovic's team were superior from the start to finish and deservedly claimed a comprehensive win.
