Chiefs target Coke Cup final

Mochudi Centre Chiefs' dreams of reaching their first ever Coca-Cola Cup final face another test when they meet Naughty Boys in the semi-final at the National Stadium tomorrow.

The treble chasing Chiefs have already won their first league and Kabelano Charity Cup titles. They have vowed that their next target this year is the prestigious Coca-Cola Cup. Chiefs were made to sweat last weekend when they beat rivals Extension Gunners 5-4 on post-match penalties, after both sides were locked at 1-1 in 90 minutes. After the win, many believe that there is nothing to stop Magosi from going all the way.

Chiefs have never won the Coke Cup and surely their supporters will be looking forward to celebrating another milestone. Though he came under heavy criticism for his tactics last weekend, coach Beston Chambeshi and his assistants know that they must do better tomorrow.  Chambeshi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that their preparations have been going well though they did not have three players who had travelled with the national team to Harare, Zimbabwe for an international friendly. The trio - goalkeeper Noah Maposa, holding midfielder Michael Mogaladi and striker Mpho 'Jomo' Mabogo - was expected for training today. "This is a stage we wanted to reach and our approach will be to attack from the onset. Naughty Boys are a good side but we will meet them on the pitch," said Chambeshi.
