Mochudi Centre Chiefs' supporters left a lasting impression with their song and dance in South Africa at the weekend during the official opening of the 20,000-seater Moruleng Stadium.

The facility is located 40km outside Sun City.
Chiefs' supporters travelled in the friendly against South African Premier League side Platinum Stars. The entertaining duel played in an electrifying atmosphere in the North-West Province ended 2-1 in favour of Platinum Stars. About 15 minutes before kick-off, Chiefs' supporters erupted into song and dance. At some stage, the master of ceremony at the stadium had to plead with the fans to pause and allow Kgosi Kgafela Kgafela to perform the opening rites for the game.

Magosi supporters attracted a lot of attention in South Africa and went wild when Michael 'Mahindra' Mogaladi converted from the penalty spot in the 14th minute to give the Kgatleng giants the lead. The fans choir produced what many termed as their best performance in a long time. Chiefs' supporters won the award of the most committed fans in the Premier League last year. As Chiefs continued to put Stars on the back pedal, a South African man commented: "These people really like their team and they remind of Bloemfontein Celtic supporters". Even some elderly Bakgatla men and women who had travelled to South Africa to attend Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela heritage week could not hide their excitement. One woman said that she has not watched Chiefs play since the 1990s when they used the Riverplate Stadium in Mochudi as their homeground. At the end of the day, Magosi supporters continued with their song and dance outside the stadium much to the delight of some people. Chiefs' communications officer, Clifford Mogomotsi applauded the supporters for showing the South Africans what they are made of. "They were simply fantastic and I would like to thank them (supporters) for rallying behind the team on the day. Even some of the elderly people who have not watched the team live in a long time were impressed. They shared their concerns with us and I must say that we are also addressing the issues they raised," he said. Mogomotsi said that playing in Moruleng has allowed them to interact with Stars' management and they learnt a lot especially in marketing strategy.
