Be MOBILE Premier League log leaders, Mochudi Centre Chiefs have extended their lead of the summit of the league table following their 4-1 thumping of Uniao Flamengo Santos.

The victory ended Chiefs' miserable week where they lost 3-1 to Mogoditshane Fighters in the Mascom Top 8 quarterfinals. They have now opened a six-point lead between them and their closest title rivals, Gaborone United (GU). They have collected 42 points from 17 matches. Striker, Kekaetswe Moloi scored a hat-trick against Santos on Wednesday with the other goal coming from Pontsho Moloi.

GU still hold the second position despite their 1-0 loss to Prisons XI on Tuesday night. Both GU and Chiefs will be engaged in CAF assignments this weekend against Mozambican opponents. Chiefs take on Maxaquene tomorrow at Molepolole Sports Complex, while GU are already in Mozambique for their CAF Confederations Cup tie against Liga Muculmana.  Nico United redeemed themselves from last Saturday's loss to GU in the Mascom Top 8 tournament by winning 1-0 against BMC on Wednesday. The Selebi-Phikwe side boasts among them Topo Piet, Master Masitara and Bonolo Fraizer. The game was held at New Lobatse Stadium under floodlights. Wednesday's win took their tally to 34 points from 17 games. They are just two points behind second placed GU. ECCO City Greens retained their fourth position on the log despite the 5-2 loss to BDF XI on Wednesday.
