Chiefs search for treble

Mochudi Centre Chiefs continue their search for the treble when they take on First Division side, Motlakase in the Coca-Cola Cup round of 32 at the Swallows Ground in Palapye on Sunday.

Already Magosi have clinched the Premier League title and the Orange Kabelano Charity Cup. Though Chiefs can claim that they have won three titles, after lifting the Kgafela Kgafela Fundraising Cup, they know that getting the prestigious Coca-Cola Cup will be the real treble.

When they travel to Palapye, what will haunt Chiefs is that they have never reached the final of the Coca-Cola Cup. Their best performance is a semi-final finish in 2002 when they lost 2-1 to TASC in an entertaining game. Mothusi 'Mambush' Nyepetsi opened the score for the Kgatleng giants before he did the unthinkable by putting through his own net to give TASC a lifeline. TASC utility player Mareko 'Des' Pabalelo broke the hearts of Magosi supporters when he capitalised on Mooketsi Ditshego's mistake to beat Lesego Moeng in Chiefs' goal.
