Chiefs fume as Nare leaves

Mochudi Centre Chiefs are fuming at the way Daniel 'Chicco' Nare resigned as assistant coach. Nare dropped a bombshell yesterday morning when he quit through an sms. To make matters worse, he announced that he has joined Chiefs' bitter rivals Township Rollers as head coach.

The sms sent to Chiefs' chairman Ernest Molome said: "Sorry boss, I couldn't pick up the phone because I was with the guys from Rollers. But I have agreed with them and I'm starting today (yesterday)".

It is said Nare has faxed a resignation letter to Chiefs' manager. Chiefs' communications officer, Clifford Mogomotsi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that they have been surprised by the way Nare handled his resignation. "We gave him a lifeline after being dumped by BMC and this is how he thanks us. We're not bitter about his departure. But at least he could have shown professionalism and sat down with us," said a fuming Mogomotsi. He asserted that much as they wanted to empower a Motswana, there are certain things which made them believe that Nare is not ready to become a head coach.
