MOLEPOLOLE: Mochudi Centre Chiefs are the champions of the 2011/2012 beMOBILE Premier League after reaching an unassailable 69 points by beating Police XI 3-1 at the Molepolole Sports Complex yesterday afternoon. Kekaetswe Moloi, Joel Mogorosi and Pontsho Moloi scored a goal each to lead Magosi to their second league title in five seasons. With the 69 points, Chiefs were now to be officially crowned and handed the lucrative trophy carrying a P1 million prize money. The job was almost finished as they entered yesterday game with both hands firm on the trophy and only a miracle would have denied them the title. In fact they could have won the league without even touching the ball as the only potential candidate for the title Township Rollers lost 2-1 to BDF XI on the same day. Police XI were however a hard nut to crack showing no intensions to hand in easily to Magosi from the start of the match. Kekaetswe broke the deadlock on the 25th minute making a swift 180 degree turn from 20 yards and directing a grass cutter to Jackson Legodi's far post.
The soft speaking foward briefly joined teammate Joel Mogorosi at the top of the scorers' chart with 25 goals.Police skipper Clarkson Dzimbiri put a slight delay to Chiefs' celebrations scoring an equaliser five minutes after the halftime break. Chiefs were awarded a penalty in the 69th minute after Pontsho was brought down.
