Chepete leaves Satmos for Nico

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Former national team player, Mogolodi 'Stix' Chepete has left Satmos to join cross-town rivals, Nico United.

Chepete has been, the Cheetah's longest-serving player. Satmos spokesman, Mpenzeni Sambandawe said it was apparent that the player was no longer happy at the club. He said it was not their policy to keep unhappy players and therefore they agreed to let Chepete join Nico. The player confirmed that he had joined Majombolo during the club's recent end of season prize giving ceremony. Nico spokesperson, Eitlhomilwe Raditshego said Chepete will give coach Madinda Ndlovu options upfront. Nico lost arguably their best player last season, Letsweletse 'Ace' Seane to Flamengo Santos. The defender was voted the club's player of the season during the recent prize giving ceremony.

Nico have released Emmanuel Nlu to Extension Gunners but fought tooth and nail to keep their prize possessions, Master Masitara and Master Masiku. Gaborone giants, Township Rollers and Notwane had shown interest in Masitara, but negotiations reportedly fell through. The player's contract with Nico ends next year.  "Masitara is highly professional and knows that he has a contractual obligation to fulfil. I don't think the two teams offered him what we are giving him. He told us that he was not interested (in joining the two teams)," Raditshego said.
