Checkers Shock Mochudi Buffaloes

Kumakwane Checkers registered their first victory when they beat Mochudi Buffaloes 2-0 in a Southern First Division game played at the Sharps Grounds on Saturday.

Buffaloes paid a heavy price for undermining the First Division rookies. Checkers were promoted to the First Division this season. 

Buffaloes displayed some brilliant football during the first half and pressurised their opponents.  Checkers tried to attacks, but found it hard to break the Buffaloes wall.
The game was goalless at recess and the two continued to shoot wildly in the second half. Checkers started their act together as the second half progressed and, put Buffaloes on the back pedal. Buffaloes central defender, George Mponiki was made to work over time as the Checkers' strikers put pressure on him. William Molefe failed to put Buffaloes in the lead when he rifled over the bar.
