CDC retain softball title

Central District Council (CDC) put up an exceptional top one inning performance when they beat North West(NW) 12-6 to retain the Botswana Games softball title on Saturday.

Central started the game like a house on fire, bagging an impressive five runs in the opening inning. Their opponents only managed to reduce the deficit to 5-2 at the end of the bottom one inning.

Central's first run came through Tebogo Bosena after Batoka Gogantle blundered when she failed to stop a low ball at centre field.  Bosena capitalised on the error and ran all the way to home base. Her teammate, centre-field, Otshegeditse Madimabe got their second run before Leungo Molosinyane added another. With bases full, a clever bunt by Central second base, Jane Gabolekane, saw Unami Lawrance and Naledi Bosena add two successive runs to end the top one inning on a high note.
