Cape capitalises on Bafana clash

South Africa Football Association (SAFA) in Western Cape will use the September 9 game between Bafana Bafana and Zambia to demonstrate their readiness and commitment to the 2010 World Cup.

Vernor Seymour, SAFA Western Cape leader, said they were delighted that yet another international match will take place in Cape Town. The game, which is a must-win for South Africa to qualify for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ghana, will be played at Newlands Stadium.

The SAFA executive committee last Friday resolved to take the match to Cape Town, ending speculation that it was going to Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein or Durban.  "This is a great platform for the City of Cape Town to once more showcase our passion for soccer and we are ready for the World Cup," said Seymour.
