Canoeing to miss Africa Games boat

Team Botswana chef de mission, Tshepo Sitale has said after a careful consideration, they felt that the canoeing team is not ready though they will be observing the situation before a final decision is made.

He said there is a possibility that they will not field the team. “We do not just want to participate, we want to compete,” he told Mmegi Sport yesterday. Canoeing and rowing are run under the same federation. Sitale said they realised that athletes are keener on rowing than canoeing.
