Can the Reds bounce back?

All eyes will be on Gaborone United (GU) tomorrow when they travel to Lobatse for the be MOBILE Premier League game against BMC that will certainly prove whether the log leaders still have the nerves to win the league championship.

The game kicks off at 3pm.
People have started doubting GU's resilience in competing for the league championship after their recent form both in the league and the Coca-Cola Cup.  The Reds were seen as the favourites to clinch the prestigious trophy after achieving back-to-back results and soccer commentators saw their 1-0 defeat in the Coke Cup by BDF XI as a blessing in disguise for the log leaders. Pundits said that the Coke Cup setback would enable GU to concentrate more on the league championship but a 1-1 draw with TAFIC in Francistown the following weekend proved otherwise.

The result meant that the five-point lead was cut to three points after their nearest rivals, Mochudi Centre Chiefs hammered Nico United 4-0 later the same day. But coach Mike Sithole and his entire technical team know well that a defeat tomorrow will spell disaster for his side. Not only do the log leaders need victories in their remaining games but they also need to work hard up front to ensure that they score as many goals as possible to match or surpass Chiefs' goal difference. Chiefs currently have a goal difference of 40 while GU have 37. Of late, Chiefs have been banging in a lot of goals and this should be GU's main worry, as the two teams still have to meet in the last fixture of the league.
