BVF trains aspiring coaches

Thirty-five aspiring volleyball coaches are taking part in a six-day beginners course, which began in Gaborone on Tuesday.

The course is an initiative of the Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF). It is conducted by Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) instructor El- Wassimy from Egypt.

The course is mainly meant for teachers although it is open to everybody. BVF vice president (technical), George Keotsene said this is one of the federation's initiatives to develop coaches at grassroots level.  He said their focus is on teachers as they are the ones who interact with children at grassroots level.  He said most participants are untrained coaches and it is crucial that they are equipped with the necessary skills.
