Prisons XI held on to maintain their grip at the top of the First Division South League as second placed Mochudi Buffaloes tried to reduce the five-point gap at Prisons Grounds on Saturday.

The hosts were, however, in a pole position to stretch their leadership to eight points, but succumbed to pressure from the visiting Mochudi team who fought from two goals down to share the spoils. It was clear Prisons were looking for nothing, but goals when they started with four strikers Tatenda Mbikiwa, Sadat Sinare, Gaolebe Mokolokoto and Robson Mohamoinasu and adopted a system that made very little use of the space in the midfield.

Long balls by-passing the engine room characterised their game from the start and in one such move, Mbikiwa thought he had  scored in the 8th minute, easily looping over the goalkeeper after connecting with a long ball from Obakeng Tutwane, but his hopes were dashed when Buffaloes left wing back Olefile Modise quickly cleared off the line. But a minute after the heart wrenching miss, the warders struck again as Sinare opened the scoring.
