Buffaloes fail to reclaim top spot

Mochudi Buffaloes' downward spiral continued on Sunday with a 1-0 loss to Masitaoka.

The Kgatleng side once again faltered in the crucial stages of the promotion charge in the First Division by failing to recover from an early Masitaoka goal. With leaders Mogoditshane Fighters having no assignment over the weekend, the defeat meant that Buffaloes missed an opportunity to go top again and put their promotion campaign back on track.

Despite the loss, Buffaloes still maintain second spot on 34 points behind Fighters with 35. Against Masitaoka, it was never going to be easy for Buffaloes. The Molepolole side needed maximum points to move away from the danger zone and the win leaves them in good stead to fight for a respectable finish.
