Buffaloes Confident Of Promotion

Last season, Mochudi Buffaloes were among the strongest teams in the First Division South League, right from the early days until just a few games before the end when their train derailed and they had to settle for fourth place. To prove that their form was not a fluke, they continued to show good form in the Coca-Cola Cup only bowing out at the semi-final stage.

However, the 'Dinare' have been lukewarm, wobbling between positions six and eight since the start of the 2008/2009 season. They are currently occupying the sixth spot of the 12-team league log. But despite this lacklustre performance,  coach Moshe Koitsiwe is optimistic his charges will make it to the elite league in the end. "If you remember well, Naughty Boys finished the first round at position eight last season but they went all the way to clinch the title and promotion to the Premier League. This gives us courage that we can also repeat that feat.

"The other thing is that we have won against two troublesome teams, Young Strikers and Kgabosetso Southern Callies, in our last two games and the boys are in high spirits. The top team is only five points ahead of us and it is only a matter of two successive wins for us and them dropping the points and we will be above them. But the transfer window is open and you never know what could happen in the next couple of weeks that could disturb our progress. But so far none of my players had been disturbed and if the situation remains the same, we could go all the way," he continued.
