BTA unveils Motor Centre sponsorship

The Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) unveiled a P65 000 Motor Centre Toyota sponsorship for the 2007 Botswana Open Tennis Championships at the National Tennis Centre on Wednesday. Motor Centre Toyota will be sponsoring the event for a record eighth time, making it one of the longest partnerships the BTA has ever had with any given sponsor.

Speaking at the occasion, Motor Centre Toyota dealer principal Zaheera Essof said that their relationship with BTA started more than a decade ago. She said that they have not only sponsored the championship but also supported various BTA initiatives. She revealed that they became one of the companies that contributed towards the recent African Junior Championships staged in the country.

"Through our partnership, we have contributed to the development of some of the finest tennis players to have come out of this country. You may be aware that BTA is sending a team to the ninth All Africa Games in Algeria next month and we are proud that at least two players in that five-member team - Phenyo Matong and Tapiwa Marobela - are past winners of this championship," she said.
