The Botswana Softball Association (BSA) is on the verge of clinching a sponsorship deal for the women's league.

BSA president Marumo Morule said that they are currently in talks with a potential sponsor and things look good. He said that they might sign a deal by the end of next month. The women's league started in May this year without a sponsor but the association promised it will get a financier before the end of the season. "I cannot exactly say when the deal will be finalised but I can assure you that women will also get their prizes at the end of the league in December," he said.

Meanwhile, Morule said the women's league remains competitive despite the fact that there is no sponsorship. "There is no difference between the women and men's league.
