Bright under no pressure

National Under-23 coach, David Bright remains cool ahead of the must win Olympic Games' qualifier against Morocco at the National Stadium on Saturday. Bright only joined the Dream Team this week after staying away because of a contractual battle with the Botswana Football Association (BFA). This forced the BFA to enroll former national team coach Veselin Jelusic and goalkeeper coach Tirafalo Mogorosi to guide the juniors.

However, on his return, Bright says that he is not worried about the Morocco match, though he has not been with the team. "I am under no pressure because I am used to international games. I am also not going to put the players under pressure and we will keep things easy," he said.

Having buried the hatchet, at least until the Morocco game, Bright and BFA chief executive officer Mooketsi Kgotlele put up a brave face at yesterday's media briefing at Lekidi Centre in Gaborone. The coach stressed that he is under no pressure despite the recent wrangles with the BFA. After his recent differences with the BFA, there is a feeling that Bright would be under pressure to pull a positive result and convince the association that he deserves a better contract. During the briefing, Kgotlele urged the media not to dwell too much into the recent spat between BFA and Bright. "This is not the right time to address that issue. This would have a negative impact on the preparations for the game and please let us focus on the game," said Kgotlele as Bright nodded in agreement.
