Bridge to host schools tournament

The Botswana Bridge Federation will hold the schools tournament tomorrow at Madiba senior secondary school in Mahalapye. Richard Dehmel's former students sponsor the tournament.

The tournament is open to all schools. The PBBF spokesperson, Tshepiso Ramaribana said they expecting at least 150 participants. She said each school should be represented by 12 students with four students making a team. She added that they expect 37 teams.

Ramaribana said that they decided to name the tournament Richard Dehmel in 2005 a year after he  (Dehmel) passed away. Dehmel was one of the expatriate teachers who introduced the card game to Botswana. The tournament was last played in 2010.
