Bridge players in France for universities competition

Four bridge players from the University of Botswana (UB) are in Reims, France for the World University Championships which started on Tuesday and will run until July 17th.

The boys competing in France are Tebogo Kubanje and Nelson Chaka, whilst the girls are Gofaone Matebejana and Kabelo Moalosi. The UB spearheaded the move to send players to this international championship while the BBA handled all other tasks related to ensuring the pairs go to France.

UB has made a request to the Federation to match the same number of participants - of both genders- that UB has sent to France.  BBF feels this could hamper the team's chances of success at the Championships because it hoped to send only the best athletes, who happen to be males, as the women are still lagging behind in their ability.
