The Botswana Premier League (BPL) may enter a new platform this week when continental broadcaster, SuperSport starts airing local matches live.

Though not yet confirmed, there are chances that the pay TV service provider may air either the match between defending champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and BDF XI at 4:00 pm or the duel between Township Rollers and Gaborone United at 7:00 pm. Both matches will be played tomorrow at the Molepolole Sports Complex.

The broadcast will be a trial run with a view to striking a long-term deal with the Premier League. Premier League chief executive officer, Bennet Mamelodi confirmed the possibility of a live broadcast yesterday, but stressed that negotiations for a long term deal are still on-going. "There are logistical issues to be taken into consideration. The matter was discussed last week Wednesday; the fixtures were drawn up with TV at the back of our minds," Mamelodi told Mmegi Sport.
