Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) Publicity and Information Secretary, Willough Kemoen, told Mmegi yesterday that the team has been in camp under the eye of coaches Khumiso Ikgopoleng and Thebe Setlalekgosi.
For the first time, Botswana may feature female boxers in the regional tournament. The two women in camp are Keneilwe Rakhudu and Pearl Morake.

They have done well at inter-club tournaments since the launch of women boxing, with the latter having been selected inaugural women boxer of the year. They staged some good fights at the best of the best tournament earlier this year. Even though the coaches are yet to finalise the squad, Olympian Oteng Oteng is expected to retain his place in the team as well as other boxers who have been part of the team; among them Mooketsi Lekgetho and Tirafalo Seoko.
