Boxing receives P92,000 from BBL

Botswana Breweries Limited (BBL) has hiked its sponsorship for the annual boxing championship by P12,000 to P92,000. The sponsorship under BBL brand, Keone Mooka Mageu was unveiled on Tuesday night.

The money will be used to sponsor the annual boxing championships. The preliminaries of the tournament will be held in Jwaneng this weekend while the final will be in Gaborone the following weekend.

Speaking at the sponsorship launch, BBL marketing manager Mmabatho Dibe said they continue to support the Botswana Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) because they have a good relationship. She added that boxing continues to do well at regional, national and international level. BBL is not just a sponsor to boxing but its strategic partner, Dibe said. To strengthen the relationship with BABA, BBL has decided to increase the sponsorship and to give out more Keone Mooka Mageu branded merchandise. The company will also use some celebrity boxers to pose as models in its adverts.
