FRANCISTOWN: Respected bowler, Patrick Cairns has relocated to his native South Africa after his contract with Orapa Mine Hospital expired at the end of February.

The departure of the reigning Botswana National Singles Bowls Champion has been termed a body blow to local bowling.

“Cairns has been a pillar for Orapa Bowls Club and Botswana Bowling Association (BBA). His move is a big loss to the game,” said BBA chairperson, Kitso Robert.
