Mmegi Sport: What attracted you to the sport?

: It is a quiet sport and I had the passion that I have for the sport has been pushing me.
Mmegi Sport: Which club do you play for?
Pauline Lekone:
I play for Gaborone Club.
Mmegi Sport: Which major tournaments have you won?

I have won the Botswana national fours on two occasions (2006 and 2007). I am the reigning Botswana masters' singles champion.
Mmegi Sport: What does winning the Botswana masters' singles mean to you?
Pauline Lekone
: It means a lot to me because I will get an opportunity to play internationally.
Mmegi Sport: How are the preparations for the World Cup going?
Pauline Lekone:
I am under pressure because I have a lot of work to do but with the support I am getting from my coach, things are going well. The main challenge that I am facing is that at the moment, the greens at our club are still closed, but I try hard to play in all the major BBA competitions.I will be playing as lead in the ladies pairs and I will also represent the country in the ladies' singles. I will be competing against New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Philippines, Wales, Jersey, Spain, Thailand, China and Norfolk Island.
Mmegi Sport: Bowls is regarded as a minority sport. What do you think Botswana Bowling Association (BBA) should do to promote it?
Pauline Lekone
: BBA must work hard in introducing the sport to schools. The moment youngsters become interested in bowling, it will be easy for it to grow.
Mmegi Sport: What do you think about the standard of competition during bowling tournaments in the country?
Pauline Lekone:
The standard of competition is high and I wish we could get international practice before we participate in tournaments such as the World Cup. We need a lot of practice if we are to do well.
