Botswana will host the ICC World Cricket League Division 7 from April 5 to 13th. Botswana, Germany, Nigeria, Ghana, Fiji and Vanuatu will be competing.

The six countries will be eyeing the top two spots in this format in a bid to get promoted to the ICC World Cricket League Division 6, which is to be held in Jersey in July this year.In addition, Botswana's umpiring elite has been called upon to be part of the umpiring panel for this tournament. Botswana's experienced umpire, Ravi Angara has been nominated to be one of the on field umpires along with two other umpires, Deepak Narayan and Sachin Weeratunge who will fill in as off-field or third umpires.

All three have attained ICC umpiring accreditations and this will be a grand opportunity for them to be involved in a high profile tournament which no doubt will be a great learning curve for them to take their umpiring ambitions further. With Botswana's umpires getting more recognition from ICC, another umpire from Francistown, Sanjay Bhargava, has also been nominated to stand in a separate tournament, the ICC Africa U19s World Cup Qualifiers Division 2 tournament that is to be held in Benoni, South Africa later this month. In November 2012, Sanjay Bhargava and Rafiuddin Mohammed attended the 3rd Annual Africa Regional Umpires Forum held in Benoni.
