Botswana ready to roar in cricket qualifiers

World-class cricket comes to Botswana next Monday when the International Cricket Council (ICC) Division Seven qualifiers explode into life in Gaborone and Lobatse. Six associate teams; the hosts Botswana, Nigeria, Kuwait, Germany, Norway and Japan will slug it out for two slots in Division Six. Qualification to Division Six will take Botswana a step closer to playing against top cricketing sides in the World. Botswana was handed a rare opportunity to host the qualifiers and with it, a bright chance to grab one of the two berths. Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) president, Girish Ramakrishna said the mother body was ready to host the qualifiers.

"We are ready to host the teams. We expect the teams to start arriving on Friday. Everything has gone according to plan and the Lobatse Oval is available," Ramakrishna said.
