Botswana might host softball qualifiers

The qualifiers are hosted on a rotational basis, but other countries have shunned the opportunity, leaving only Botswana and South Africa to rotate.

Botswana Softball Association (BSA) president, Marumo Morule said only Botswana and South Africa are always willing to host the qualifiers but this time South Africa is not interested in hosting as their team has already qualified for the World Championships as hosts.

Morule said there were expecting Zimbabwe to host the African qualifiers but indications are that they will not and thus leaving Botswana with no choice  but to rescue the situation.  With the rotational hosting not working, Morule wants it to be replaced with a bidding system. He said some countries are not committed to hosting especially where it is apparent that they will not qualify for the World Championships.
