Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) is considering hosting the Africa Cup Championships scheduled for July. The interest comes after South Africa, who were the initial hosts, pulled out.

Karate South Africa (KSA) made the announcement at the Region V meeting held in Harare, Zimbabwe last week indicating they were not ready to host the tournament. Namibia has also shown interest in hosting the event. BOKA vice president, Shihan Mpho Bakwadi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that it would be a good opportunity for them to host the Africa Cup. He said they are in negotiations with relevant stakeholders on the matter.

He said they are yet to submit a proposal to the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC).
