Botswana will host Zambia in an international chess friendly in Mogoditshane over the weekend.

The two countries are preparing for the Chess Olympiad in Russia from September 19 to October 4. Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) secretary general, Kelapile Kelathilwe said the games will be held at Yarona Country Lodge on Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am. He said the friendly has been made possible through the support of Colestma Transport and Logistics which provided P10,000 in sponsorship.

"The amount will be used to transport the visiting team and attire for the event. The two federations started their relationship when their development sides played a challenge match in Kasane (Botswana) in August 2009," he explained.
