Botswana's campaign in the Africa Junior Tennis Championship warm-up tournament has ended at the first hurdle with all the players crashing out on the opening day.

No Botswana player has made it to the second round, raising questions whether the hosts will create any impact in the tournament proper. Mina Albert of Egypt ensured the misery continued when he beat Karabo Khali 6-1, 6-1 while Dimpho Legoreng fell 6-3, 6-0. In the doubles, Allen Phethogo and Lekang lost 6-1, 6-3 to Innocent Mzehe and Pape Samoura while Kopano Maratwa and Anwasiba Bagerbaseh went down 6-2, 6-3 to Samuel Omoile and Gbraiel Teja.
