Botswana beats Zimbabwe in netball thriller

The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) courts were teeming with spectators as fourth Africa Netball World Cup qualifiers started with Botswana outsmarting Zimbabwe 41-39 in an entertaining game on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts, Botswana, and fellow contenders, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia and Swaziland are battling for the two spots at the World Netball Cup to be held in Sydney, Australia in July 2015.

A large crowd turned up for the official opening, defying the soaring Gaborone temperatures. The Botswana team received a rapturous reception and responded positively by pinning Zimbabwe.
