The tournament was an eight-team event with Botswana competing against Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Sierra Leone, Ghana and the Seychelles.Botswana won six out of their seven games and tied on points with Tanzania and Zambia who also posted similar results; interestingly after six games Botswana were leading the Log Table, Tanzania second and Zambia third based on the nett run rate calculation.
The tournament drew to an even more interesting finish because Botswana had beaten Zambia but lost to Tanzania, whilst Zambia defeated Tanzania to make it a three-way tie to finish in the top two.
