The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) has resolved to lobby for formation of more clubs in the new year and spread the game to the rest of the country. BONA spokesperson Bakwena Oitsile said they have not been able to reach certain places because they face financial constraints.

Besides, BONA does not have a full-time officer to make follow-ups. Oitsile said that in some areas, clubs collapsed because they could not get sponsorship. He stated that BONA needs to encourage clubs to recruit more young players who will grow with the game. He said BONA did not do badly this year. "We started the league in time," he told Mmegi Sport yesterday.

He said that they managed to keep their traditional sponsors at a time when sponsors are pulling out because of hard times. He dismissed talk that netball seems to be dying a natural death in the recent years.
