The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) meets today to decide the fate of its suspended league.

The league committee spokesperson Debra Dintletse said the competition had to be called off temporarily because the Under-21 national team was taking part in the Confederation of Southern African Netball Associations (COSANA) games in Lesotho early this month.

The suspension meant that the league could not end this month as planned. Dintletse expressed confidence that the league will resume in two weeks, time and end this year because they have very few fixtures pending. She said that though they experienced a few problems, the competition was generally run well. She explained that in the first round, there was a shortage of umpires and that means matches started late. Clubs that did not honour fixtures also affected the running of the league. She said they will consult the affected clubs to find out what went wrong.
