BOMaid marathon to celebrate country�s rich history

It is a growing trend around the world that countries use sporting activities to promote their tourism industries.

The most recent being at the Olympics where the marathon route passed through all the city’s historical sites including one of the world’s seven wonders, Christ the Redeemer statue that towers above the city.

As the world moves towards sports tourism, the organisers of the BOMaid Great BW marathon are taking similar steps as part of the country’s 50th independence celebrations through hosting a marathon that would show the country’s rich history.
