BODA battles to secure sponsorship

FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Darts Association (BODA) is battling to attract sponsors more than a decade after losing the financial backing of Botswana Breweries Limited.

BODA public relations officer, Peter Martias Sekgwama said they have been frustrated for over 10 years without sponsorship. He said their efforts have come to naught as most organisations shun darts.

"We have managed to sustain ourselves for the past 12 years largely through the voluntary services of our people. We contribute from our pockets at all times," said Sekgwama. He asserted that the state of affairs stifled progress. "Travelling expenses are particularly high and at times, hinder our participation in regional competitions," Sekgwama said.
