BoBA explains selection criteria

The Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) is expected to name an unchanged squad for the qualifiers for next year's Olympics in London.

BoBA spokesperson, Willoughby Kemoen told Mmegi Sport that there will be very little changes in the team that will participate in AIBA Africa Olympic qualifying tournament in Rabat, Morocco next April.He said the association has a thoroughly development programme that operates for at least four-years and it does not allow frequent changes to the national team setup.

He said this allowed them to recommend boxers for scholarships and training at high performance centres, while they prepare for top competitions. BoBA won the best-executed development plan at this year's Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) awards.
