BoBA cuts interclub competitions

Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) publicity and information officer, Willoughby Kemoen, has said a decision to reduce the number of interclub tournaments from 17 to 15 per year is meant to give boxers time to recoup.

The association has been holding 17 interclub tournaments annually but decided to trim them to 15 at their Ordinary General Assembly in December.

"We have never had a recess like other sporting codes in our calendar and this decision will enable us to go for a recess every September. Boxers would then return to action in October fully charged for the National Championships and the Best of the Best tournament," he told Mmegi Sport yesterday.
