Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) will host a netball indaba on March 1 to rescue the game from the doldrums. The indaba will be open to all netball stakeholders.

It is meant to map the way forward and revive the sport. At the last Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Botswana Netball Association (BONA), BNSC chairperson Dorcas Makgatho-Malesu expressed worry that the sport is not doing well. She warned that if BONA does not put its act together, the BNSC will take over the running of netball.

Makgatho-Malesu said at the time that netball has lost the hype it used to have in the past. Attendance is low while the level of competition has gone down drastically. BONA president Tebogo Setlalekgosi agreed the sport has a problem and needs help as a matter of urgency.
