Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) is contemplating taking action against the Botswana Wrestling Federation (BWF) over what they term unbecoming behaviour.

BNSC chairperson Solly Reikeletseng told Mmegi Sport yesterday that the BWF leadership was aware of procedures, but had a tendency of taking issues to the media before exhausting all BNSC channels.  He said on many occasions the BWF had taken issues to the media before taking them to the council. Reikeletseng said he now had no option, but to take action against the federation. He said the BWF style of dealing with issues in the public domain could not be condoned.

BWF president Moagi Sharp said they felt sabotaged by BNSC for refusing with money for their trip to Morocco for Africa Wrestling Week slated for the weekend. He said that they had returned P88, 000 to the BNSC at the end of the financial year and had suggested that the funds should be used to cover transport and accommodation costs in Morocco.
